Established on October 28th, 2022, The Tukura Foundation is  a non-profit organization committed to promoting environmentally sustainable development in North-East India. Our mission is to cultivate a sustainable living culture by harnessing the potential of indigenous materials like bamboo, cane, sitalpati, jute, water-hyacinth, areca-nut leaf, and fabric etc.

In the timeless artistry of the Baya Weaver bird, we find inspiration for the Tukura Foundation's mission. Just as this master weaver constructs intricate nests using natural materials, our foundation envisions a sustainable future. Drawing from the richness of indigenous resources and the finesse of traditional craftsmanship, we promote environmentally friendly practices and empower communities.

At the Tukura Foundation, we believe in holistic and sustainable development. We strive to uplift rural communities by addressing critical aspects such as health, hygiene, waste management, and sustainable agriculture.

Our ultimate goal is to create equal opportunities and contribute to the region's commerce and industry, uplifting underprivileged sections of society. By offering support and guidance, we help artisans embrace new possibilities, expand their reach, and secure sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their communities.
